Delete your MapMyMath data

MapMyMath, by Ahmed Mohamed, has no accounts and no sign-up: a child's progress is stored against an anonymous id held on their device. You can delete all of it yourself, from inside the app, in under a minute.

Delete it in the app

Four steps

  1. 1. Open Settings

In the MapMyMath app (Android, iPhone, iPad or the website), tap the settings icon in the top corner of the home screen.

  2. 2. Tap "Delete my data"

It's the red button at the bottom of the settings panel.

  3. 3. Pass the grown-up check

A short multiplication question confirms an adult is making the choice, so a child can't erase their own progress by accident.

  4. 4. Confirm "Delete forever"

Deletion happens immediately on our server. The app returns to the welcome screen as a brand-new, empty device.

Prefer us to do it for you? Email hello@mapmymath.com from any address with the 8-character device reference shown in the app's settings panel, and we'll delete the record within 30 days. Because we do not collect contact details or a verified real-world identity, that reference is the only way we can find the right record.

What happens

Deleted permanently

  • The explorer nickname, school year and chosen avatar
  • All maths progress: questions answered, scores, stars, mastery and review history
  • All in-game rewards: coins, XP, badges, chests, camp and passport progress
  • The learning-event history linked to that device id
  • The notification token, if reminders were switched on
  • The pseudonymous learner id itself, removed from both our server and the device

This is immediate and cannot be undone. There is no backup copy to restore from, and no retention period afterwards.

Kept

  • Standard web server logs (IP address, time, page requested), which every website records for security and reliability. These are not linked to a child's progress and are discarded within 30 days.
  • Anonymous, aggregated totals such as "how many questions were answered this week", which contain nothing that can be traced back to a person.

We hold no email addresses, phone numbers, passwords or payment details, so there is nothing else to keep. We never sell data or show advertising.
